by sharing the foods we love, we preserve our cultural and culinary heritage, creating connections across geographic and generational borders.

FEATURED RECIPES

an ethnographic cookbook project

Here, you’ll find a diverse range of recipes, as well as the stories from the individuals and families behind them. These people may now reside in Hong Kong, Vancouver, New York, and the Greater Boston Area, but their lives have taken them all over the world.

Read. Cook. Learn. Love. This is what being human is all about.

About Me

I’m Adrienne, a student at Milton Academy in Milton, Massachusetts. I love food and people, and I’m always curious about the answer to one question, the key to everything:

What’s your story?

Here, I’ve tried to provide just some of the innumerable possible answers to this question by sharing the food memories—the legacy, culture, and heritage—of some seniors within the localities that I inhabit. I hope we can, through their stories, understand the power of food in helping us understand ourselves and each other.
